A new study sponsored by Indiana University concludes that President Obama’s vision of one million plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) on US roads by 2015 will require concentrated efforts action from all stakeholders— the autoindustry, federal government, the scientific community, and consumers—to be realized.
A recent report from the Environmental Defense Fund indicates that electric vehicle sales volumes are growing at a rapid pace, signalling an epochal shift in the autoindustry over the next decade. It’s a technology that will last till 2030 or 2040.
Glad to see the variety & availability of electic commutercars (vs hybrids & PHEV) is rising. Since most families have at least two cars now, I foresee an electric commutercar and an ICE road trip car (you know, an Escalade or Dodge Ram crew cab ;o) in the future.
