In early testing, reviewers said a plug-in electric hybrid sedan from Chinas BYD Co. But the gasoline engine in the BYD rattled and could be noisy when it kicked in, the reviewers said. The purpose of the new tariffs is to prevent American automakers from needing to compete head to head with Chinese automakers, whose lower cost electric vehicles could otherwise make their way stateside and catch the US auto industry with its pants down. The only thing for sure here is that there are no winners.

You guys go ahead and buy your 40 mile per charge GM golf cart. Posted by: GSP | Apr 14, 2009 9:07:50 AM Funny, BYD (chinese) already came out with their version of the volt this year. JUST TRYING TO MILK and Suck as much from the fall of the Auto industry as possible. Oh, and it looks wayyyyy cooler than the Volt.
