A team of students from the Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University is helping to improve the air quality for nomadic communities in Mongolia. The Project Koyash team at ASU designed a solar-powered air-filtration system that autonomously cleans polluted air in less than an hour.

A report from the Arizona Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) found that switching to electric fleets could save $14 million in pollution-related expenses over the lifetime of the municipal vehicles—and that’s just in Arizona. Additionally, vehicle pollution is one of the largest contributors to climate change.
