If you've been to New York City lately, you may have noticed an increasing number of hybrid taxis on the roads: mostly Ford Escape Hybrid SUVs, but also Toyota Camry Hybrid and Nissan Altima Hybrid sedans, and a scattering of others too.

GM came in second for total hybrid sales in the month, with 1,807 units sold. The Tahoe, Yukon and Escalade two-mode full-size SUVs posted a combined 632 units, representing 8.4% Combined sales of the Escape and Mariner hybrids fell 25.8% Sales of the non-hybrid Escape and Mariner fell 47.8% of all Altima models sold.

GM sold a total of 1,612 hybrids in March: 609 units of the Tahoe, Yukon and Escalade two-mode SUVs (7.3% 362 units of the Saturn VUE hybrid (10.4% 547 units of the Malibu hybrid (3.7% 26 units of the Saturn Aura hybrid (1.3% Nissan posted 834 units of the Altima Hybrid, a 0.2% of total sales).
