NYPD goes green

Police Commissioner Raymond W Kelly and Mayor Michael Bloomberg have announced that the department is going green by sending hybrid police vehicles out on patrol. Around 40 Nissan Altima hybrids will be deployed across the five boroughs. The pilot programme will be reassessed in a year’s time.
