The 580 EV is powered by a 480-volt, 90 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged by any 220-volt/three-phase connection. Two units have already been sold to utilities in the United States: NYSEG and RG&E, AVANGRID companies, and National Grid.

Across the United States, zero-emission initiatives continue to gain traction; ownership of electric vehicles is still growing in momentum, and so is the demand for more charging stations. This charger type also uses a standard EV charging coupler and requires a single-phase branch circuit that delivers an input rating of 240 volts.

General Motors Chevy Volt series PHEV, which it calls "extended range electric vehicle" (EREV), part of "E-Flex" multi-fuel platform. See Chevy Volt for latest. Now Lutz envisions selling hundreds of thousands of Volts a year, probably priced below $30,000. I want to stick around to see the Volt come to market.
