Louisiana’s Ways and Means will hear SB 8 on Monday, May 24. The bill proposes to accelerate the sunset date of alternative fueled vehicle (electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicle) tax credits in Louisiana. In essence, they want to end the tax credits earlier than planned.

There's a storm a-brewin' in Louisiana over alternative vehicle tax credits. In 2009, the state legislature passed Act 469 (PDF) which grants tax credits of up to $3,000 to anyone who purchases a low-emissions vehicle that runs on alternative fuel, "including but not limited to compressed.
