Specifically, Westport secures its position as Ford’s largest partner under the Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) program with more than 10 products and approximately 150 Ford authorized dealerships. The fuel costs we saw posted during our trip averaged $4 per gallon for 87 octane, which would be $276 gasoline costs, so advantage electric, but not by much.

Ford says the all-new, all-electric 2022 F-150 Lighting is “the truck of the future.” The first was the 2021 Mustang Mach-E , next was the 2022 E-Transit cargo van, and now the enticing 2022 F-150 Lightning. Ford says 75-percent of F-150 Lightning buyers will be new to the brand, while 80-percent are new to owning an EV.
