The California Energy Commission unanimously adopted the 2013-2014 Investment Plan Update to support the development and use of green vehicles and alternative fuels. These incentives help to pay the difference between the cost of alternative-fuel vehicles and conventional vehicles.

Two battery switching stations, at the international airports in San Francisco and San Jose, and six taxis that use switchable batteries will be used. In addition, buy-down incentives totaling $2,548,000 will be awarded for 180 alternative-fuel vehicles, most of them school buses.
