Clean Energy Fuels Corp delivered 143 million gallons of Redeem Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) last year as robust sales of the carbon-neutral transportation fuel continued in 2019, closing out the year with significant deals throughout North America. In 2019 Clean Energy provided an estimated 16 million gallons of Redeem to UPS.

Six new corporate partners have joined the National Clean Fleets Partnership. Ryder recently celebrated the opening of its first natural gas vehicle maintenance facility, which will deploy hundreds of heavy-duty liquefied natural gas (LNG) trucks, include two LNG fueling stations and two additional maintenance facilities.

Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (CE&IG), a part of the Nikkiso Co., Ltd (Japan) group of companies, announced multiple contracts to provide more than a dozen Hydrogen Fueling Stations (HFS) to customers in California and South Korea. This addition provides yet another major manufacturing facility in Southern California.

Communities and utilities receiving the new technology were partially funded under the Wisconsin Clean Transportation Program jointly administered through the Wisconsin State Energy Office and the US Department of Energy Wisconsin Clean Cities Program. The trucks are used for construction and maintenance of the Marshfield utility grid.

With the addition of accessible LNG fueling stations, UPS also will add LNG trucks on routes from Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, Texas to further extend territory. The California Energy Commission approved three major alternative fuel infrastructure agenda items totaling more than $6 million. The transportation investments were funded through the Energy Commission’s Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program (ARFVTP).
