Alternative Fuels Chicago Gasoline Recharge

These projects put more than 9,000 alternative fuel and energy-efficient light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles on the road, and establish 542 refueling locations across the country. The project will deploy 502 alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles through 119 public and private fleets throughout the state.

Ford Motor Company is unveiling the all-electric version of the Ford Transit Connect at the Chicago Auto Show; the small electric van will be in fleet operators’ hands later this year, according to the company. A transportable cord that works with both types of outlets will be available for recharging at both kinds of locations.

Company says its focusing on gasoline and hydrogen. Blue Concept PHEV Van with diesel or hydrogen fuel cells and rooftop photovoltaic. Volvo Ford-owned company exploring PHEVs "ReCharge" flex-fuel series 60-mile concept PHEV w/wheel motors. Hybrid Sonata model year 2011, possible PHEV version in 2013. No announced plans.

We need to stop BURNING fuel in our cars. Gasoline is burnt up and gone forever into the atmosphere and into our lungs.
