The pact seeks to enhance cooperation through a range of activities, including: Accounting for the costs of greenhouse gas emissions in each jurisdiction. Oregon will build on existing programs to set a price on carbon emissions.

Nearly all of the world’s ship fleet still runs on diesel fuel, with about a quarter of new ships on order being built to run on somewhat lower-carbon alternatives like liquefied natural gas, methanol, or hybrid propulsion. The reactor would produce steam to spin turbines that would generate electricity to power motors.

ACC combines three sets of regulations to reduce emissions from light-duty vehicles and build the market for advanced zero emission vehicles. The new regulation also implements zero fuel evaporative emission standards for PCs and LDTs, and more stringent evaporative standards for medium-duty vehicles (MDVs). Source: ARB.

Building on LCFS policies already adopted in Europe, British Columbia, and California, the researchers looked at potential costs and benefits of reducing the carbon intensity of transportation fuels by 10 to 15 percent by 2030.
