Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has taken delivery of its first heavy-duty battery-electric vehicle, marking a step in the airport’s transition to a fully electric fleet. This also is the first zero-emission Class 8 tractor in the City of Los Angeles municipal fleet.

The Los Angeles Harbor Commission recently approved up to $44.2 million in Port funding toward the 2009 Clean Truck Incentive Program at the Port of Los Angeles. The California Energy Commission (CEC) approved $17,223,593 for eight projects including alternative fuel production, plug-in truck demonstrations, EV charging station deployment, and infrastructure planning. Pipeline transport of fuel and waterless processing will result in near-zero production emissions at the facility.
