The Detroit News has the alternative fuel breakdown in the president's budget request, and it isn't pretty. Increases for hydrogen fuel cell research from $289 million in FY 2007 to $309 million in FY 2008. Bush proposes $81 million, which includes $17 million for plug-in hybrid battery grants. We need cars.
