At IAA Mobility 2021 in Munich, Porsche is presenting the Mission R concept electric car that combines advanced technologies and sustainable materials, such as natural fibre-reinforced plastics, with a passion for racing. The Mission R is on a par with the performance level of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Porsche AG has developed a new production process at its headquarters in Zuffenhausen in collaboration with Tesa SE. Using this process, the holes in the car body, which are necessary for corrosion prevention, can now be sealed much more effectively; these holes are required so that all of the body cavities can be accessed in the paint shop.

Porsche has introduced a third body variant of the Taycan electric sports car. In 2021, deliveries of the all-electric Porsche Taycan more than doubled to 41,296 units from the previous year. Porsche has produced its first complete housing for an electric drive using 3D printing. The engine-gearbox unit produced using the additive laser fusion process passed all the quality and stress tests without any problems. The optimized electric drive potentially could be used in a limited-edition super sports car.
