Last week, 37 electric vehicle (EV) driver associations from 26 countries, including Plug In America, joined forces to create the Global EV Drivers’ Alliance, building a worldwide EV community. While the United States has been a leader in electric mobility in many ways, we also lag behind several countries in EV market share.

Volvo has received an order for 11 electric hybrid buses and 2 ABB automated electric bus fast-chargers to the city of Namur in Belgium with public transport authority and operator TEC. This is the largest order to date for the company’s electric bus system. TEC is buying the bus system as a turn-key solution.

Just a few months after the launch, Porsche is expanding its charging service for plug-in and electric vehicles ( earlier post ) by five countries and additional functions. The Porsche Charging Service, the digital platform for all charging-related services, was launched in May 2018.

ABB launched the Terra Smart Connect Duo , the first 22 kW AC & DC fast charging station tested and proven to successfully support the Daimler smart electric drive and Renault Zoe using AC charging, as well as with CHAdeMO cars such as the publicly announced Nissan EV200, Mitsubishi Outlander, Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner.

At Busworld Europe in Belgium later this month, AKASOL will present its AKASYSTEM OEM battery system as a complete roof installation including the chiller and other additional components. Energy amount and power can be scaled up by connecting an unlimited number of AKASYSTEM OEM units in parallel.
