Volta began series production in Austria ahead of those planned deliveries in Q3 2023, but things started to go south once its battery supplier Proterra filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last summer.

The introduction of Volta Trucks’ 100% battery electric commercial vehicles into North America will be led in 2023 by a Volta Zero Class 7 truck which is equivalent to the existing European 16-ton truck, with a dry or refrigerated cargo box. Alternatively, one hour of 19 kW AC standard charging will add around 12 miles of driving range.

TWAICE is also working with TÜV Rheinland (Technical Inspection Association, a network of companies in Germany and Austria that test, inspect and certify technical systems, roughly similar to UL or Intertek) to build a test and certification system for used EV batteries. As the old saw goes, if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.

Maxus is presenting a range of zero emission EV80 battery electric vans at the 67 th IAA Commercial Vehicles show in Hannover. Under the new agreement with SAIC Maxus, LeasePlan will offer operational leasing solutions for the fully-electric EV80 large panel van to business customers across continental Europe.
