GM said the growth comes as it offers a wide range of options, including electric SUVs like the Chevy Blaze EV and affordable models like the Chevy Equinox EV. And that’s before the $7,500 EV taxcredit. Over 15,000 Chevy Equinox models were sold in Q3, what GM calls “the most affordable EV in the US with 315+ miles of range.”
GM calls the electric SUV a “game changer” with over 300 miles range, a tech-loaded interior, and an affordable starting price. GM claims the Equinox is the “most affordable” EV with over 315 miles range. All models qualify for the $7,500 EV taxcredit.

With long-range, fast charging and some of the most affordable electric models on the market, Kia is confident in the brand’s direction in the US. It also has more rear-seat legroom than a Cadillac Escalade and more shoulder and hip room than the Tesla Model X. Tesla’s Model X does qualify for the $7,500 EV taxcredit.
If it’s any indication, Kia’s EV9 has over 42″ of rear legroom, which is more than a Cadillac Escalade and Range Rover P40. Hyundai IONIQ 9 spotted ahead of November debut (Source: ShortsCar) New EVs built at the facility will initially qualify for a partial $3,750 taxcredit. It also has more headroom than the Tesla Model X.
While that price tag won’t be anywhere as affordable as the XT4 ($39,090 base), Cadillac’s gasoline-fueled compact entry SUV, if it qualifies for the $7,500 EV taxcredit it will cost about the same, effectively, as today’s XT5 SUV ($47,290 base) while providing much more cargo and passenger space.
