GM said the growth comes as it offers a wide range of options, including electric SUVs like the Chevy Blaze EV and affordable models like the Chevy Equinox EV. With several new models launching, including the Cadillac Escalade IQ, Optiq, and Vistiq, GM expects the momentum to continue into the end of 2024.
According to Kia, the growth was due to higher demand for SUVs and electric models. One of the biggest bright spots is Kia’s first three-row electric SUV, the EV9. With long-range, fast charging and some of the most affordable electric models on the market, Kia is confident in the brand’s direction in the US. What about the EV6?

While that price tag won’t be anywhere as affordable as the XT4 ($39,090 base), Cadillac’s gasoline-fueled compact entry SUV, if it qualifies for the $7,500 EV tax credit it will cost about the same, effectively, as today’s XT5 SUV ($47,290 base) while providing much more cargo and passenger space.
However, until mainstream public confidence reaches the point where the perceived combination of risks of a battery electric vehicle purchase (range, affordability, reliability and behavioral changes) match that of an ICE vehicle, then EV purchases are going to be the exception rather than the norm. How much range is enough?
