Ford is cutting the prices on its entire F150 Lightning electric pickup truck lineup, with reductions ranging from $9,979 for the Pro to $6,079 for the top-of-the-line Platinum Extended Range.

Citing increased plant capacity , production scaling, cost reductions, and improving raw battery material costs, Ford said it was able to reduce the price of the F-150 Lightning to make it more affordable to customers. However, the upgrades are already taking effect on the price of the vehicles. This offer is valid from July 6 to July 31.

Conversions are mostly for the Prius, with a few for the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner hybrid SUVs. At these prices, people are buying the "environmental feature" -- they want to be among the first owners of the worlds cleanest extended-range vehicles. They are early adopters, buying "Version 1.0" So far, most start as hybrids.
