An important incidental effect is that battery costs have fallen by around half in the past five years. That is making electric mobility affordable for more and more customers. It had a 110 kW electric motor, and a nickel-metal hydride battery served as a buffer. The Audi Q5 HFC (Hybrid Fuel Cell) followed in 2009.
