What’s more, the i4 isn’t even one of BMW’s entry-level models. That puts the effective monthly cost at $627.

When’s your affordable EV that gets 1oo mile range on a quick charge Ford? Plus it looks ten times cooler. Really Ford?

So perhaps let’s start with what I noticed before I hooked up my phone, which is that this new Model 3, thanks to a few tweaks to its lights that make them look a bit more BMW/Mazda/Euro-cool, looks better than any before it, and slightly less “egg in a prom dress” than previously. But they’re still less practical than a simple stalk.

They’re not going to be cheap. Once the early adopters have signed up for their EX90s, we can expect more affordable single motor 2WD versions to follow. The EX90’s three rows of seats will be a desirable point of difference next to rival large luxury EVs: the Audi e-tron , BMW iX and Jaguar i-Pace.
