Nissan Surf-Out concept Within last week’s 2030 plan presented by Nissan, emphasizing more affordable EVs , the automaker said that it will pair with Mitsubishi for the joint development of a Nissan Frontier pickup replacement in EV and PHEV forms. Now, GM reportedly seeks a similar deal with CATL. And instead it’s planning more hybrids.

Matthew Guy Audi RS e-tron GT: Yes, go ahead and roll your eyes. If it’s lightweight and fun to drive, all the better.

Audi E-tron 5,612. The Model 3 its affordable ($35,000 as it was originally advertised, though most have sold for more), smaller model changed everything. Technology upgrades like Full Self Driving remain available to buy, but are not delivered via an over-the-air update. Tesla Model 3 80,681. Chevrolet Bolt 22,799.

One new and more affordable option is the Mustang Mach-E , but the personality difference is substantial. The Audi E-tron is another luxury competitor, but I haven’t had any seat time in it yet. Ones to watch include the upcoming BMW i4 and recently announced Kia EV6, but you can’t buy one of those yet.

It doesn’t sell in quite the numbers of the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC, but it puts up a solid fight – especially considering it generally sells with price tags higher than all of those. Still, with combined outputs of 430kW and 1130Nm, the Taycan Turbo EV one of the most powerful Porsches you can buy.
