Joe Biden ultimately restored the waiver by executive order after taking office.

The European Parliament and the Council have reached provisional agreement on a regulation setting, for the first time in the EU, strict CO 2 emission standards for trucks. Under the agreement, emissions from new trucks will have to be 15% lower by 2025 and 30% lower in 2030 compared to 2019 emissions. —Erik Jonnaert.

After a group of 17 Republican-run states filed a legal challenge against the EPA decision , a three-judge panel overseeing the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia has rejected the legal challenge, according to a report from Automotive News. state to officially ban the sale of new gas vehicles starting in 2035.
