General Motors to recall all additional Bolt EVs, through MY 2022, for battery replacement; $1B cost

General Motors is voluntarily expanding the current Chevrolet Bolt EV recall ( earlier post ) to cover the remaining 2019 and all 2020-2022 model year vehicles, including the new Bolt EUV. Batteries with these new modules will come with an 8-year/100,000-mile limited warranty (or 8-year/160,000 km limited warranty in Canada).

Battery-powered Mercedes-Benz eActros approved as truck-trailer combo with total weight of 40 tons

The Mercedes-Benz battery-electric eActros has now been approved as a truck-and-trailer combination with a total weight of 40 tons. Since the start of testing in 2019, the eActros has covered more than 70,000 kilometers on more than 7,000 trips. With four battery packs, the eActros 400 has a range of up to 400 kilometers.

IDTechEx: NiMH batteries still dominant in full hybrids, largely due to Toyota

First Lexus EV to offer 10-year battery warranty

Lexus’ first full electric vehicle, the UX 300E, unveiled in China in November 2019, will offer a 10-year (or 1 million kilometer / 621,000 mile) battery warranty. kWh battery pack which supports 400 km (249 miles) of range in the NEDC cycle, corresponding to more than 300 km (186 miles) target range in the WLTP cycle.

BMW Group Dingolfing factory to supply batteries for MINI EV from 2019
