Among its first announced customers, back in December 2017, was Pepsi, which reserved 100 of the trucks and plans to use them in the California regions of Modesto and Sacramento. The LIGHTS team found that, once acquired, the electric truck had significantly lower operating costs per mile—but that didn’t make up for the higher purchase cost.
