Toyota anticipates that the 2016 Prius ( earlier post ) will deliver fuel economy ratings of 54 MPG city / 50 MPG highway / 52 MPG combined. A new Eco grade model is expecting ratings of 58 MPG city / 53 MPG highway / 56 MPG combined thanks to lighter weight and further optimized aerodynamics.

Do they receive HOV access for their improved fuel economy and ultra low emissions? In fact in 6 of the states, diesel fuel is penalized with additional state taxes. So diesel fuel gets taxed twice or penalized twice at the federal and state level. Advanced diesel will increase to 23% in 2025 from 17% in 2016.

The Tesla Model S ’ introduction in 2016 marked another milestone, but the Model 3 in 2019 and Model Y in 2020 broke the EV market wide open. liter gas engine (28 mpg highway) for a run in the snow up to Lake Tahoe. In a few short years the launch of the Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Volt moved us closer to that vision becoming reality.

The Ioniq Hybrid boasts the highest fuel economy in the US (up to 58 mpg) for a non-plug-in vehicle and the Ioniq Electric is the industry’s most efficient EV (136 mpge). We are the highest fuel economy of any hybrid, of any gasoline car without a plug sold in the US. Design objectives included: Fuel economy.

Although the EPA has not as of this writing released the final fuel economy numbers for the US A3 e-tron, Filip Brabec, Director, Product Management, Audi of America, said that the figures will be around 83 to 86 MPGe combined (depending on the equipment level), with 35 to 39 mpg gasoline only and 16-17 miles of EV range.
