Growth of alternative powertrain vehicles sales will be limited by consumer concerns about costs as well as functionality, according to the newly-released J.D. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles: 37%. By the end of 2016, J.D. Power also sees hybrid and electric vehicle share of the US market to remain below 10% through 2016.
