KCL study finds London air pollution from traffic improving, but continues to exceed limits in many parts of city

Overall, there was a decrease in total traffic between 2005 and 2014, mainly explained by the reduction in cars and taxis. Fitting new exhaust clean-up technology to older buses helped to curb nitrogen dioxide along some of London’s roads. In some locations emissions abatement policies were offset by changes in traffic flow.
