Edmunds’ analysis found that a hybrid or electric trade-in is more likely to go toward the purchase of a SUV (33.8%) than another hybrid or EV.

The report shows that projected global ZEV adoption from 2015 to 2039 (based on the BNEF 2017 forecast) may follow an s-curve, similar to that of smartphone adoption in the US from 2005 to 2015. Total Cost of Ownership: An analysis of 17 popular 2017 models found ZEVs can already be price competitive now, without government incentives.

General Motors and Hawaii’s The Gas Company (TGC), the state’s major gas energy provider, are collaborating on a hydrogen infrastructure project. Electricity costs are the highest in the US. TGC will file a tariff with the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission to establish the cost of hydrogen for the retail dispenser.
