Fisker reports more than $100M in revenue Jan-Apr 2012; more than $1B in funding since 2007

Fisker Automotive published its first business update, announcing that revenues had exceeded $100 million in the first four months of 2012. In the first few months of 2012, Fisker has continued to raise private equity investment to fund its expansion plans, securing $174 million of additional private financing since the start of the year.

Volvo Car Corporation begins production of the Volvo C30 Electric for leasing customers in Europe

Volvo says it will build about 250 cars by the end of 2012, possibly more if market interest takes off. The Volvo C30 Electric is built on the regular assembly line in the Ghent factory and then transported to Göteborg for installation of the motor, batteries and other model-specific electronics. A full recharge takes about 7 hours.
