They wanted to see whether an electric vehicle could feed electricity back to the grid. The company’s president, Tom Gage , dubbed the system “vehicle to grid” or V2G. And EV owners would become entrepreneurs, selling electricity back to the grid. And indeed, that’s how promoters of vehicle-to-grid technology perceive the EV.

Unlike those you may have grown accustomed to seeing, many of these stations don’t just charge electric cars—they can also send power from vehicle batteries to the local utility grid for use by homes and businesses. Debates over the feasibility and value of such vehicle-to-grid technology go back decades. This is good for the grid.

The plant was originally fueled by coal but was converted to natural gas in 2010. The natural gas combustor is equipped with a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) supplies steam to support ethanol production. Some small amount of corn oil (about 3% of total co-product) is also produced. gCO 2 e/MJ. gCO 2 e/MJ fuel.

From what I’m reading, there’s a lot of battery production coming on line in the next 12 months in Asia and Europe. a Detroit-based subsidiary of LG Chem, to be supplier of the advanced lithium-ion batteries for the Volt (right) , which is scheduled to begin production in late 2010. and complete the circle.

The current electrical grid is poorly designed for distributed generation of power.

By abstracting devices to use electricity as their fuel, we can concentrate on advancing clean electricity production techniques and have the benefits shared by everything. Once weve consolidated everything to depend on the grid, we can clean up everything by cleaning up the grid. Its a centralised solution. Is this the Zune HD?
