Even as demand increases, the world will continue to become more efficient in its energy use, according to the 2015 Outlook for Energy: A View to 2040.

Energy executives expect continued volatility in the price-per-barrel of oil for the remainder of the year, with 64% predicting crude prices to exceed $121 per barrel. Only 35% think current crude prices are near the high they expect for oil this year, predicting the peak will be between $111 and $120 per barrel.

Ford has reduced the amount of energy required to produce each vehicle in its manufacturing facilities by 22% in the last six years. Ford’s progress has been achieved by investing in energy-saving practices and equipment. The company also announced plans to reduce usage another 25% on a per-vehicle basis by 2016.
