Drayage Truck Replacement: EPA will fund up to 50% of the cost of eligible drayage trucks with a 2010 model year or newer heavy-duty engine. Clean Alternative Fuel Conversions: EPA will fund up to 40% of the cost (labor and equipment) of an eligible clean alternative fuel conversion.

Existing law exempts certain clean, alternative-fuel vehicles from these occupancy requirements, so that a vehicle with a sole occupant may use an HOV lane—if the vehicle displays a Clean Air Vehicle sticker. The state has implemented three clean air vehicle HOV sticker programs in recent years: White HOV stickers.

The clean diesel program’s goal is to improve air quality by decreasing emissions from diesel-powered transit bus and school bus fleets. The program supports projects that re-power or retrofit fleet vehicles to curb emissions; purchase and install idle-reduction technology; or purchase clean alternative-fuel fleet vehicles.
