EIA: consumption of alternative transportation fuels held steady in 2009

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reports that consumption of alternative transportation fuels held steady in 2009, with a total of 431,107 thousand gasoline-equivalent gallons, compared to 430,329 thousand gasoline-equivalent gallons in 2008. Diesel: 37,701,896 thousand gasoline equivalent gallons.

UPS commits to aggressive goals for more alternative vehicles, fuel and renewable power by 2025

UPS announced new sustainability goals to add more alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles to its fleet while increasing its reliance on renewable energy sources. In addition, by 2020 UPS plans that one in four new vehicles purchased annually will be an alternative fuel or advanced technology vehicle, up from 16% in 2016.

California ARB releases proposed Innovative Clean Transit (ICT) regulation; 100% ZEB purchasing by 2029

Starting 1 January 2020, large transit agencies would be required to use renewable fuels for diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG) buses when fuel contracts are renewed to support existing renewable fuel policies. To date, about 55% of all buses in California operate on alternative fuels.
