GM’s Sales in China Surpass 1.5 Million Units

On 10 November, General Motors and its joint ventures in China surpassed 1.5 million units in sales for 2009. For the first 10 months of 2009, GM’s domestic sales in China totaled 1,459,460 units. from the first 10 months of 2008 and a new record for the period. This was more than double the number sold in October 2008.

Chrysler Group US sales up 10% in December, 21% for 2012; FIAT largest gainer

Chrysler Group LLC reported US sales of 152,367 units in December 2012, a 10% increase compared with sales in December 2011 (138,019 units), and the group’s best December sales since 2007. The Chrysler, Dodge, Ram Truck and FIAT brands each posted year-over-year sales gains in December compared with the same month last year.

SAIC-GM-Wuling completes expansion of Qingdao mini-commercial vehicle facility; 70% increase in capacity

Among the products manufactured in Qingdao are the Wuling Rong Guang, Wuling Xingwang and Wuling PN-Series minivans. More than 850,000 Wuling Rong Guangs have been sold since the model’s launch in 2008, making it the fastest-growing vehicle nameplate in China. In 2010, SGMW had record domestic sales of 1,226,860 vehicles.

SAIC-GM-Wuling to Export Mini-Commercial Vehicles to South America, Middle East and North Africa

The Wuling N300, which went on sale in China last year, offers a more spacious cabin than traditional mini-commercial vehicles. Under an earlier agreement, SAIC-GM-Wuling began exporting the N200 to Peru in July 2008 as the Chevrolet N200. SAIC-GM-Wuling, a joint venture between GM China, SAIC and Wuling Motors, was launched in 2002.
