Italy-based Micro-Vett SpA, which produces electric versions of several other Fiat vehicles, has developed an electric version of the 500, unveiled by the NICE car company in 2008. No decision has been made whether the car will be offered for sale in the US, according to the report. The electric 500 from Alelion and Autoadapt.

By 2014, high-speed trains will be operating in nearly 24 countries, including China, France, Italy, Japan, Spain, and the United States, up from 14 countries today. In just three years, between January 2008 and January 2011, the operational fleet grew from 1,737 high-speed trainsets worldwide to 2,517.

The mini-car (A car) segment is the fastest growing area of the new car market globally. in 2008 and less than 5% in 2005. The smaller of the two units is of 995cc displacement and produces 68 hp (50 kW) at 6,400 rpm, enough to power the car from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 15.5 seconds, and on to a top speed of 154 km/h (96 mph).
