GM has announced plans for public sales in 2010, and almost every carmaker now says it will sell PHEVs or highway-speed battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sometime after 2010. In late 2008, BYD started selling the first production PHEV in China. Batteries not ready. First Escape PHEV delivered to SCE Nov 2007; 20 in 2008-2009.

Toyota Prius modders have already been adding larger batteries so the vehicle can run on battery power. And what will happen when millions of people all start driving these electric cars and the batterys go dead. Instead of investing in our future we dumped money on trying to save the past. Way to go morons.
