BMW M cars – they’re coming with hybrid drivetrains. And if we’re guessing, we reckon it could be called the Ranger Lightning (see above). Kia e-Niro – Kia is expected to confirm it will begin going electric in Australia in 2021 and it’s the e-Niro set to lead the (err) charge. Soon, apparently.

In late 2008, BYD started selling the first production PHEV in China. Has shown some concept fuel-cell PHEVs. First Escape PHEV delivered to SCE Nov 2007; 20 in 2008-2009. Blue Concept PHEV Van with diesel or hydrogen fuel cells and rooftop photovoltaic. Batteries not ready. Expects production around 2014.
