Poland, Slovakia, Luxembourg and Lithuania all posted record levels of volume, while it was the best year since 2007 for Spain and Estonia, and the best year since 2008 for Romania, Hungary, Croatia and Latvia. The majority of vehicles registered in 2018 were powered by gasoline engines, with the fuel type making up 57% of all registrations.

Toyota Motor Corporation revealed the exterior design and Japan pricing of its hydrogen fuel cell sedan, first unveiled as a concept at the Tokyo Motor Show last year. In 2008, FedEx Corp. announced it would seek to reduce carbon emissions intensity from its FedEx Express aircraft and improve the fuel efficiency of its FedEx Express vehicle fleet by 20% by 2020, as compared with its 2005 performance. and improved vehicle fuel efficiency by 16.6% at the end of its fiscal year 2011.
