Port of Los Angeles surpasses 2023 pollution reduction targets five years ahead of schedule; NOx down 60% from 2005

Emissions of NO x , a key component of smog, at the Port of Los Angeles are down 60% compared to 2005 emissions levels. Diesel particulate matter (DPM) remains down 87%, and sulfur oxides (SO x ) remain down 98%. Container ship calls were down 22% while the average number of TEUs per vessel increased 60% since 2005.
