My ex and I got solar at home on his birthday in 2002, then our first EV, the RAV4, a couple months later, on the winter solstice. No pollution, well-to-wheels. I think mainstream America would be stunned to know that there are many among them doing the same thing. And with the solar panels, I was driving on sunshine. .

Its like having a second fuel tank that you always use first -- only you fill up at home, from a regular outlet, at an equivalent cost of under $1/gallon. But theyve needed definitive proof that PHEVs wont increase pollution. This means the more maintenance-free electrical systems of PHEVs offset the initial higher cost of batteries.
