Audi of America introduced four new TDI clean diesel models for the US market this year—the Audi A8, A7, A6, Q5—along with an updated Q7 TDI, all equipped with a second-generation 3.0L V6 TDI diesel engine. Not only is it more powerful and contains up to 30% better efficiency than traditional gasoline, etc.

The initial relationship related to hybrid systems for the 2000 Series Allison transmission, which has now been expanded to include the 3000 and 4000 Series Allison transmissions at the completion of design reviews for those products. In July of 2012, Allison Transmission invested in a non-controlling equity stake in Odyne Systems, LLC.

GDCI engine was significantly better than advanced production spark injection gasoline engines, and comparable to very efficient hybrid vehicle engines at their best efficiency conditions (214 g/kWh). A high octane fuel was injected late on the compression stroke of a boosted diesel engine operating with high EGR.

Scientist have confirmed that unlike gasoline cars, plug-ins will get cleaner as they get older -- because our power grid is getting cleaner. The comparison keeps being raised, though studies are conclusive: The "well-to-wheel" emissions of electric vehicles are lower than those from gasoline internal combustion vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz is introducing four new diesel and gasoline engines for its luxury S-Class, including the first four-cylinder engine in its almost 60-year history, the S 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY diesel. The likewise new V6 diesel in the S 350 BlueTEC delivers 190 kW (258 hp) and has a combined consumption of 6.8 liters (11%).
