According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) Fourth Assessment Report (AR4), global CO 2 concentration in the atmosphere should be stabilized below 450 ppm, Nissan noted. During FY2007 and FY2008, per-unit CO2 emission from all the Nissan plants was globally reduced by 10% (compared to 2005 level).

Nissan is reviewing its long-term carbon dioxide (CO2) emission targets and according to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) global CO2 concentration in the atmosphere should be stablised below 450ppm. Now it will introduce a clean-diesel engine into the Japanese market in spring 2010.
